During my third semester, I was privileged to attend a workshop by Mirek Trejtnar and Zdar Sorm
from Puppets in Prague. Here is one of the final outputs. This is a package I made which was a synthesis
of all final products. Haftling translates to prisoner in German.

From this I created a short surreal animation. Derived from a brief exploring surrealism, and its
integration with reality. This was a live action animation exploring symbolism in a historical context.
The concept is a mental health patient who is seeing hallucinations brought about from his traumatic events
in world war two. This semester’s submission also came with a 34 page publication documenting the process I
underwent making The Silent Haftling Puppet and Animation. It also contains descriptive text of my ideas and
how they lead to the final output.
This includes photographs of early concepts, puppet progression,
set creation, and frames from the final animation.
